GULL LAKE LODGE, June Lake

Gull Lake Lodge provides comfortable rooms and accommodations in the heart of the Eastern Sierras. Each 1-bedroom suite features a full kitchen and a private bath. All units have a large, open kitchen and dinette area, and the full complement of dishes, cooking utensils and linens. Bathrooms feature new tubs with showers and all new fixtures. The 1-bedroom suite features a separate seating area with a cable TV featuring HBO. Some suites have a balcony with mountain views or a patio. The well-fitted kitchen has a stovetop, a refrigerator, kitchenware and an oven. All suites have tea and coffee facilities, a dining table, a flat-screen TV and carpeted floor.

Gull Lake Lodge is in June Lake, California. The village of June Lake is surrounded on the south and west by 10,000-foot peaks. It's near high desert plains to the north, and the Mono Basin with Mono Lake to the east. The lodge is a short walk to stores, bars, the lake and marina. Mammoth Yosemite is 40 km away. It is about 30 minutes away from the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park (the Tioga Pass Entrance). Note: during that time, it is not possible to enter Yosemite from the east side of the park. Other park entrances, including those along Highway 120 from the west, Hetch Hetchy, Highway 140, and Highway 41 remain open all year. The lodge is near Reversed Peak Trail (0.5 km), Gull Lake (0.5 km), June Lake Marina (0.5 km), June Mountain Ski Area (2 km), Double Eagle Resort and Spa (4 km) and Gull Lake Park (5 km). Guests can walk all of the town of June Lake from the property.

From the lodge, guests have access to the Eastern Sierra's attractions. June Lake offers solitude, beauty and outdoor excitement. The loop's four lakes, June, Gull, Silver, and Grant, are stocked with Alper's trout. Guests can rent boat and float tube rentals, plus tackle and guides for fishing adventures. Meandering Rush Creek is a spot to test fly-fishing skills. Other winter sports include snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing on a vast trail system. Autumn is a paradise for artists and photographers as fishing season comes to a close.

Gull Lake Lodge offers free parking right outside the door. Trailer parking spots are the two elongated spots in the middle of the main parking lot. There is a self-serve supply room located on the bottom floor with extra toiletries, DVDs, books, coffee, and more. The Lodge provides Wi-Fi, though the signal can be spotty. All of the premises are smoke-free, including the cabins/suites, balconies and patios, the parking lot, and communal outdoor areas. Smoking is permitted along Bruce Street in front of the property. Quiet hours are from 10pm - 8am daily. Two dogs max are allowed; the fee is $20 per dog per night (free after the third night). No recreational firearm, weapon, or firework use allowed on-site.

The cleaning schedules mean early check-ins or late check-outs may not be possible. If you're in the area early, contact the property for recommendations in town, and they'll provide a heads-up when your room is ready. Contact the on-site hosts Chris and Carson if you need any help. If wildfires threaten the safety of the property and guests, or AQI exceeds 150 on the date of your arrival, the property will do its best to rebook your dates and refund what it recoups.
